I did press one to " disconnect a while back and found that on that day my phone bill had several calls on my phone bill made from a local prison, the phone co told me never to dial one from a open line as it opens the line to the caller to make calls and charge them to that number, Good luck . jan
Robocall targeting seniors "60 and over" with a fake-sounding official name -- something like the National Senior Center -- presumably to fool the elderly into thinking they're a legitimate organization. They also have the audacity to offer $3,000.00 in 'free savings certificates' to those who sign up with them, and then guess what?! They'll also give you a medical alert bracelet as part of a no-risk offer! Wow!
These lowlifes are scammers and vultures. Report them to www.donotcall.gov immediately.
09/16/13 ditto, all what you said. I gave a fake name, kept them on the phone a while. "Senior Alert Care".
I read in another log, that there's this "guy" / company that buys up hundreds (?) of ph #'s then sells them to the people WANTING to violate the do-not-call act, man, if you do something for the purpose of breaking a law, you'd think they could stop this before it starts.
I'd like a list of the #'s that were bought for this purpose. Now that they use a local # for the calls, you are kind of inclined to pick up.
I need a phone that checks this site as it is ringing! haha. but no way to fight them. other than to do as I did that everything they said "checks out completely, matching perfectly the scams reported by the police, so you're breaking the law and I hope you as a criminal don't sleep well nights". Some poor retiree ,lady trying to make some $$, but sure wish they didn't have to do it THIS way!!!
