I got a txt message on a car ad I posted on eBay Classifieds: "Still for sale right? This is Kevin from Illinois. Do you have PayPal for the payment?" Then he sent another txt: "I have arrangement with freight company who will be responsible for the inspection, pick up, and delivery once the payment has been sorted." I called the number. It’s a Google Voice number. He called back. He has a heavy foreign accent. I couldn’t understand anything he said.
He asked me again for a PayPal account and a email address for my PayPal account. I told him I didn’t have a PayPal account because it’s notorious for scammers! I sent back a txt and told him, "I recorded your conversation, gave it to the Police along with your txt messages, hope they arrest you for scamming people, and I contacted INTERPOL. They’re going to deport you!" Haven’t heard from him again.
