I have had this number call me several times. The first time I answered and the guy was telling me that my computer was sending error messages and he wanted to help me fix it. When I told him it sounded like a scam he got defensive and repeatedly told me it was not. He ended up transferring me to someone higher than him who did the same thing when I said scam. He ended up hanging up on me because I wouldn't fall for it. I've had two more calls within the past 3 days with no voicemail. I just ignore it.
SCAMMER alert!! Just received a call from "John" with Microsoft. He so kindly offered to help me fix my computer since it has been sending error messages indicating a problem. Speaking with such a heavy indian accent, I could hardly understand his directions. Like I would have followed them anyway!! Really??! I let him carry on for a minute then while I was supposedly starting up my computer, I let him enjoy JImi Hendrix's "Star Spangled Banner" at full blast. Get a life, "John."
I received a call from this number this morning just before 7am . It was a lady calling about computer problems. I recognized the voice from a previous call from a area code 518 number. I told her off and hung up. Be careful people because last time, she cussed me out waking up my son at 10:45 at night.
Caller with Indian accent claimed that my computer had been sending them errors within the last week and he wanted to help me fix them. I played along to see where this is going. He asks you to turn on your computer and then hold the windows key and hit "r"...which initiates the run command on your computer. I hung up at this point, assuming the next thing he wanted me to do was type in a command on the comp that would either initiate a malicious command, or make my computer visible to him so they could hack into it. He tried calling back right away from the same number. I didn't answer, but I tried calling the number to see what was on the other end. The number is claimed to be disconnected or no longer in service. So whoever is using this number, is using a program to generate a random number, and mask the true origination point.
I received a call from this number at 9:00 am. I pay for caller id from Verizon and it always comes up this time it didn't . I didn't answer it sure enough I called back and the line had been disconnected.
