The caller ID said ADT, which is the only reason I picked up (we have ADT). But it was a recorded message saying "this is our final attempt to notify you that you have won a new car". I hung up before they got any further. Scamming scammers who scam... By the way, folks, ADT is not giving out free cars. :)
Received a call from (708) 515-9206 on 7/15/15 around 1 PM; caller shown on Caller ID as: "ADT". Since we NEVER answer calls from people/numbers/companies that we do not recognize, or with whom we do NOT do business, we allowed the call to be picked up by our answering machine. A VERY annoying female voice started droning on and on that we had (supposedly) won an IPad or a tablet or some kind of electronic device(?); but the voice was SO awful- and we were trying to hear our TV(!)- that I picked up the phone and hung it right back up, in order to end the call! Really wish that something could be done to put a permanent end to these scam/spoof/sales calls; unfortunately, the Do Not Call registry just isn't effective enough.
This call got thru to my answering machine, and was talking about my having won a new car from something I'd filled out. (Clearly not the case.) I erased the msg at that point. What's weird is that the Caller ID said "PromotionsAgcy", yet I no longer pay Ooma the extra charge that gives Caller Name as part of the Caller ID. (And it's not in my address book or phone list, etc.). At any rate, definitely blocking this one!
