I don't know if this # is a scammer or not but I'm going w/my instinct and am NOT replying to it. Here's what happened....I placed an ad on Craig's List (CL) for the car I'm selling. I posted about 11pm Friday night. Saturday morning I had this text message, verbatim except for the { }, that was sent at 2:11am......
Do You Have {title of my CL post} i am texting with an office phone, please reply back to { }@gmail.com. thanks
If this person has e-mail capabilities why would they text from an office phone? Who is at an office phone that has the ability to text from it, especially at 2am? I may be wrong but this text doesn't seem on the up & up to me.

At first glance, that appears to be relatively innocuous, right?
Well ... maybe not. In addition to the problem you detected, there is another problem ...
If you reply back to that email address, the potential scammer would then have YOUR email address for their database. You might then get some ... interesting ... emails, including some offers that would be tempting to accept.
Some of the emails or phone calls you might then receive may be similar to the "auction scams" described here:

Remember to return here, to 800notes.com, after you look at any of the information at that site, either to post more information, or to let us know you avoided the scam, or to read any further information about that number that others may post.
Also remember this short warning from the Craigslist site:
"DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON!
follow this one rule and avoid 99% of scam attempts."
