Same thing as previously mentioned a call saying I have an outstanding credit card debt from 20 years ago, they have started employment verification and will garnish wages if i dont pay now. When i mentioned statue of limitations he hung up.
Received a voicemail message from a person claiming to be Robert Avery (or Ivory). Said he was calling because I had failed to return his calls regarding a pending case against me. Referenced a case number that I believe to be bogus. NEVER identified the name of the firm he worked for or the supposed client he was representing. I do not pay any more attention to calls like this than I do to calls about my 'delinquent student loans', as I have never had a student loan in my entire life. Further, I have not purchased ANYTHING on credit since 1998. That's 18 years ago. If I DID have an outstanding debt from 18 years ago, I do believe the Statue of Limitations in my State would render any attempt to collect it illegal ... 'Robert' should get a real job.
Message from "Robert Ivory" left on v-mail. Something about his office manager has been trying to contact me and that I should call him back before the "proceedings" against me are resolved. Can't determine if it was supposed to be a debt collector, a legal call OR the scamming IRS call people are reporting LOL
