Received a call 5/2 around 10:45am.
I answered- pre-recorded message from "Consumer Services". I pressed 1 to 'learn more'. A man answered and I said "I'd like to be removed from your list". Phone went dead. That's what I thought! Obviously, scam.
Again these folks are Credit Card Services and this is nothing more than a scam. They have been spoofing numbers - my last count is 20 so far. The problem is once they get a valid number - if your voice mail answers they continually harass and call. Folks they are asking for Credit Card Information and will scam you out of money by charging up to $800 on your card to lower your interest rates and they dont do a thing at all. Best thing all of us can do is report it to our respective State Attorney General Office and the FCC. I know the Feds are looking to find these criminals. If you want to mess with them go ahead but I would reccomend ignoring them and let them continue to waste their money on phone bills.
It was the usual recorded message --- this time from "Jennifer at Cardholder Services" (it used to be "Rachel from Cardholder Services" but maybe Rachel has been sent to prison and Jennifer is her little sister, just learning the business.
Anyway, this is just another phishing scam.
I report all such calls to donotcall.gov and to my financial institution.
