I received this same call and these spam people need to stop and I would love to know how they get my number in the first place. I have never signed up for anything online so I don't know how they keep getting my number to call and text.
This number continued to appear on my caller id at all times throughout the day and it only showed Red Oak, IA with the number itself, no other information so I began to wonder what the reasoning was behind it. There was only one person I knew of that could possibly be in that area so one morning before going out for an errand I answered the phone and here is what happened.
I discovered that number, an IA phone number is being used by a Utah company to sell ATX alarm systems. What I would like to know is why are these people doing such a thing instead of showing their actual name on caller id, that is lying to consumers first of all. Secondly, I have never asked to receive this type of information and I did not ask to be solicited in this fashion. I am going to report this company phone number to the FCC but I did want to make a complaint here first so others in the IA area are aware of what this company is doing and attempting to take advantage of consumers.
