I received a call twice from 713-335-3893 from someone claiming to be from Chevrolet Warranty Service. On the second time I contacted Chevrolet via chat. These people are deceptive as they are in fact from Freight Warranty Service. See the note below from Chevrolet Chat.
Samuel [12:11 PM]: MS Chevrolet Question

System [12:11 PM]: Welcome to chat.
Ethan [12:12 PM]: Hello, Samuel. Thank you for chatting in with Chevrolet today! My name is Ethan and I will be taking care of you. How may I be of assistance?
Samuel [12:13 PM]: I have received a call from someone claiming to be from Chevrolet warranty service from phone number 713-335-3893. Does Chevrolet call customers concerning an extended warranty?
Ethan [12:13 PM]: Give me just a moment to cross check that to verify if that is truly us.
Ethan [12:15 PM]: Okay, Samuel, that is not us at Chevrolet. That is a company called Freight Insurance and they are based out of Houston, TX.
Samuel [12:16 PM]: That is what I thought. Are they anyway affiliated with Chevrolet? I have received 2 calls from them and it is deceiving when they are saying they are with Chevrolet Warranty service.
Ethan [12:19 PM]: They are not associated with us. They are an after market service contract company, one of many that may call you. These companies get access to customers who purchase vehicles of all makes. They generally claim that they are that brand's warranty service, however they are not.
Ethan [12:19 PM]: If you are interested in further coverage however, I would recommend speaking with a Chevrolet dealership and contact the finance department or service department.
Samuel [12:20 PM]: Thank you for your help, however, I would like to note that I don't like the fact that Chevrolet let other companies access my vehicle warranty information.
Ethan [12:21 PM]: We did not release your information. I believe these companies get access to all vehicles that have been newly registered through another way. I am not positive as to how, but rest assured, it is not us.
Samuel [12:22 PM]: I am not sure how they know that my warranty is about to expire or the fact I did not buy it to begin with.
Samuel [12:23 PM]: Registering a vehicle has nothing to do with any warranty issues.
Ethan [12:24 PM]: If you would like to, they may be able to answer that question for you. I do not necessarily recommend contacting them however if you decide to, it never hurts to ask how they got that much information.
Samuel [12:24 PM]: Thanks.
Ethan [12:25 PM]: You are more than welcome, Samuel. I apologize I couldn't give you a more definitive answer. If you have any further questions, feel free to chat back in!
