good to know others are reporting this debt collection service which choses not to obey the fdcpa. i got a call friday from this number, asking for a person with a certain korean name. I truthfully told them I don't know anyone by that name and I've had this number (which has been a cellphone number for 2 years) for 5 years, and that for months I've been telling people who call under that subterfuge the same thing and not to call me again. The caller acknowledged being in debt collection (tho not the company name) and said they'd only had the account since november 3 and would not call back.
I'm not holding my breath, since the calls escalated after I reported some of my health insurance company's unethical practices to Virginia, the state that insurer insists is most favorable to them in not enforcing its laws and regulations (tho the insurer also boasts of its friends among "all regulators" state and federal and told me to check my policy's gag provisions while advertising both its "quality" and affiliation with United Healthcare and its big-data practices). Yup, I'm crazy enough to still refuse to pay a bill backed by altered electronic medical records, although my health insurer wins (as it says it always does) because I'm not getting treated for the medical condition it diagnosed soon after I subscribed (fyi it insists on its property right on keeping my diagnosis date as that of the first multi-party complaint letter, all hand-delivered and mailed copies of which my insurer says it never received)
Rec'd a few calls from this #713-414-2121. They wanted to get in touch with my neighbor. They are a financial company. Most likely a collection agency. This guy wanted me to give a message to my neighbor because the # he had didn't go through. The last time he (Mr. Bell) called I asked him if I was going to get paid for doing his work and he told me he barely gets paid enough. So I told him I couldn't help him and hung up. I thought this was illegal. Someone has to know.
I also recieved a call from this number, they are a collection agency, seems if they can,t find who they are looking for they just go through the phone book calling all names similar to the one they are seeking.
I got a called from LCD Financial about a debt collection. The number shows up as a Florida or a Texas number. They have left two messages for me. Only problem is, I have no debt. I got out of debt about 5 years ago. What I think this is about is my ex-husbands crap and they are coming after me. Only problem is, I don't have his last name and I found out 3 years ago that he illegally put my name down as an authorized user and signed my name. I have been battling this problem for years and I am in the process of fighting a civil judgement that was put against me for his outstanding debt from right before he went to prison for arson.
I am a business owner who has no past due dept to anyone. this collection agency called asking for a name unknown to anyone employed by myself. after asking to be removed from their call list the got rude and told me i was that person and to come clean and pay them. i asked them not to call back yet have repeatedly gotten calls. its come to the point where ive had to contact the police and have them contact this copmpany to stop the harrassment.
