This guy keeps calling me says his name is Jim Smith and he has a legal case against me . And I need to call him back and take care of this matter or he's sending the the local cops to serve a warrant for my arrest. If I don't pay him money. Ive payed three times I'm not paying again. The same thing has been happening to me. They tell they are goingto take me to court, and I would end up behind bars,They call me at work, home, and on my cell phone. When they call they can't answer any questions I have for them. How do I make this stop.
Keeps calling and leaves message that they need my credit card number to make a payment. I have no idea who this is. Also left 1 message that they had a warrant for my arrest. I have no idea who this is.
This is (one of many) criminal extortion scams that have been going on for years. Many are operating overseas and out of the reach of US law enforcement, while others are operating within the confines of prison cells here in the US, using contraband cell phones. Others are using VOIP. Either way, they are able to disguise their identities and locations, making them next to impossible to prosecute. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting victims' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself.
