Just received a call from 1-713-701-5427 claiming to be the IRS and that they were filing a lawsuit against me. Same automated voice call as the others as well as instructions to call back at the above number.
Automated female caller stating that the IRS is filling a lawsuit against me. I actually called this number back. An Indian male answered and I said "I'd like to figure out what this scam is about because I doubt that the IRS would leave a automated voice mail saying that they were filing a lawsuit against me." He got angry and said "Well if you think this is a scam, then you hang up because I don't care who the hell you are". He then hung up that phone. Number I called back was 713-701-5427.
Thank you for sites like this. Answered the phone and a female automated voice said like everyone else, final notice and the IRS is filing a lawsuit. I knew it was a scam but called the number back. A guy with a middle eastern accent answered and I said I received a call from the IRS and was told to call back 713-701-5427.
He asked for my full name...........I said he should already know it..........He cursed me and hung up.
Most of us already know scams when we hear them but thank you to everyone for posting.....it really helps.
Watch out for the elders, as they are most likely to fall for these kinds of scams.....Make sure they know to NEVER give personal information over the phone.
Silly fake IRS message scam, awful grammar, total scam, because you know the IRS will totally call you at home from a VoIP spoofed number out of Texas.
