Some DOT called to refinance a mortgage. Saying that my interest rate was too high.  The more I pressed for legit information, like where their offices were, and why this invalid phone number came up on caller ID.  He got quiet.  I ended up messing with the guy for a few minutes.  He finally admitted that they use a random phone number generator to mask their calls.  Then gave me an 866 number to call if that made me feel more comfortable. Yeah as if I am going to call another bogus phone number.  I told the guy to bone off and eat more beef.
