Caller identified herself as "Tracy" with the "Design Center" - likely a contractor looking for work, because she said that she was going to be in our neighborhood next week - I cut her off and said I would notify the police to erect barracades to keep her out.
She denied knowing anyone named "Geraldine Kohut", which is what showed on my caller-id.
Called the house 3 times in the last week,always in the morning.Never leaves a message. According to Caller ID, caller is a "Geraldine Kohut". Finally decided today to call the number back to see what she wanted. Called twice and got disconnect recording both times.Number is obviously being spoofed by Scammers/Telemarketing Scum who don't want to be identified due to violation of the Do Not Call list.They have now been blocked!! Suggest you do the same,or if unable to,have nothing to do with them.
I am Geraldine Kohut and this is not my number and I have not been calling people. I will be filing a police report as I have now had someone google me and track me down at work. Otherwise I wouldn't know about this. Could I ask how you go about blocking the number if the number that shows up is the 714-230-6978 and that number is not in service nor has it been for years?
I'm glad you reported these idiots to the police.They are annoying to the rest of us,but could pose a threat to you,and it borders on identity theft.May I also suggest you contact whoever your phone company was at the time and let them know what is going on.Not sure what they can do if the number is being spoofed,but maybe they can at least disassociate your name from that number.
To answer your question about how I block them,I have an old Beltronics Caller ID box (no longer available) that does it.When the number comes in,the box recognizes it as on a reject list and the call will not ring thru. They have called once since I did this,so we'll see if the jerks call back.
