Caller said something about calling on behalf of the Police Department. And not texting and driving. He admitted that he was a fundraiser and violating the do not call list. If he is violating the law, do you really think he is working for the police?
First a hang up- waited 5 minutes and I called back. Man claimed to be with the police and wanted to remind everyone about texting while driving- really strange.
This is a solicitation for the Fraternal Order Of Police. The company running the cold call solicitation receives approximately 90% while the FOP gets approximately 10%. I believe t he ratio is a bit one sided; however, you can do the math. If you have a need to contribute to this organization or any other charity, you can find them on line and contribute directly so the charity get 100%.
I think this is just another fraud, so I am blocking this number. With all the taxes we are paying, there should be enough already going to public agencies already, anyway--unless our tax dollars are being diverted and wasted. Therefore this will be another blocked number.
