They called my unlisted landline number at 11:58 AM PDT on 9 January 2017. The caller ID said "714-598-0734". I thought that I recognized the number, so I foolishly picked up. There was a recorded female voice telling me not to hang up, and then she launched into a speech about how the Department of Education has a new way to forgive student loan debt. As soon as I heard that, I hung up. It is a scam to steal your money. Don't fall for it. My phone numbers are on the Do Not Call list. I will report them to DoNotCall.gov.
Never call them back, not even from a blocked phone. They have ways to unmask your phone number even when it is blocked.
They called again at 1:19 PM PST on 9 January 2017. See the comment above for more details. The caller ID said "Out of Area". I did not answer (duh!). They hung up after the third ring. Never call them back, not even from a blocked phone. They have ways to unmask your phone number even when it is blocked. I will report them to DoNotCall.gov (again, sigh).
