Fake. Scam and a Fake. A phone message or an email (esp. email from a gmail or yahoo acct) is NOT legal notification. Unless you got written notice via US Mail, someone is fishing for victims to scam. Don't return the phone call, that is all the encouragement the scammer needs to keep calling you and being pest. If you see a number and name of your caller ID that you do not recognize, don't answer. Depending on your phone and carrier, you might be able to block the calls.

Here is the message that was left on my answering machine. The woman's voice states, "We have received a legal case against you and for that reason you will be getting arrested either from your home or from your work place. If you need any further information, you can reach me at 714-646-6291. See you at the courthouse." I called the number back in order to try to see who answered the phone. The answering machine stated John Hill Law Firm and the gentleman's voice had a very thick accent.
