Home upgrades and I put him on MUTE and then he hung up.

Looking for John Hunt. This is the 8 call in the last 3 month. Each time I tell the caller Mr. Hunt is dead and not to call again.

Called my landline, left no message.  Did I answer?  Of course not!  Wish I had time to pick up and really have some fun with them, but I work from home, and am on time constraints.  All these unsolicited calls are intrusive.

Kudos to you! I do the same when I'm not busy -- keep them on the line until they hang up.

This will maybe win you a battle, but not the war. It matters not if you blast noisy objects in the phone, waste their time by tying up their lines, or call them back. They may not steal any money, financial or personal information, or break into your computer, getting a number with any kind of answer keeps their calls from being a total loss. How good is a phone number that never has any answer?
