I think the common denominator is possibly a real estate transaction, as my wife and I just closed on a home too, and we too received one of these post cards.
Furthermore, when we purchase something online, we always get a tracking number so we know that there are no parcels waiting for us.

Got a postcard stating "Notice of parcel hold... Final notice... To release your parcel call 714)705-4909 within 3 days" Using CallerSmart found it belongs to Mica Water Inc, a water softener company. Shame on them and their deceptive tactics.
