I get a call from this number every single day. As soon as I say hello they hang up, if I stay on the phone without saying anything it just sounds like distant static. When I call back I get a busy tone.

Last week it was a scam for "abused animals" this week it's "Julie from rewards center" again. They rotate about 3-5 weeks. Most of the time it's "refilling a prescription" or an extended auto warranty. The scams are all the same but the numbers they call from are usually different. The robo dialer has thousands of unused numbers in it's database, that's why if you try and call back, the number is not in service or it's busy. When you do answer it usually notes your phone as an active number and then the scammer can sell this "active numbers list" to other spammers / scam artists and the cycle continues. The Feds will never do anything about it, so my best advice is to get a decent call blocker app and just keep adding the numbers when they get through. My list is now at almost 200 different numbers and growing
