They called my college aged daughter on her cell phone asking about my car (and they had the make right). Sounded very important and she felt she should give them my number to reach me since I owned the car not her. Then they called me on my cell (which my daughter supplied). The man did not announce his company name and started to talk about how my warranty had expired and they had a program to replace it with new benefits. I said "not unless it's free" and he said, "well, nothing in life is free." After that I just said "No" and hung up. My guess is they used random digit dialing to find people in my area and that carries with it the risk of finding people on their cell phones instead of land lines.
