The caller introduced herself (don't remember name) from the something or other Solar Initiative. (no, I wasn't paying awesome attention at that moment...not even sure why I picked up the phone) I told her I wasn't interested and that I don't appreciate the sales call since I am on the National Do Not Call list. She assured me that this was NOT a sales call and that it was an "Informational" call. I was in a surly mood so I decided to fight back. It went like this:
Me: So, your reason for calling is not to sell me something?
Her: No, I'm not selling you anything. I just want to give you information.
Me: And you don't get paid more if you sell me something or at least set up a free estimate meeting?
Her: No, I get paid regardless because I am not on commission and this is not a sales call.
Me: Well, good then. You can get paid when I tell you AGAIN that I am not interested in purchasing solar from you and tell your supervisor to take me off of your calling list. Have a good day.
I HUNG UP.
I get stupid solar calls at least once a week. I like clean energy and all, but I DON'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED!!! If I want it, I'll go looking for it.
Just received a call from this number. They indeed are a solar telemarketing business. I told the guy who called that I was not interested in his business or any of the other 40 calls a day I get from the solar people and that I wanted his information to report him to the FTC. He quickly gave me the company name as Direct Energy - Go Green and that they have a website. I am going to report them as they continue to bother me with their telemarketing schemes.
