Hilarious! Yes a robo call, but the bot tries to act human. "She" tells you you've been selected for some cruise, and asks a few questions. If you ask her a question she says she can't understand you -- something like "it must be a bad connection". This was entertaining for me, so I asked several questions: "Are you a live person?" She answered yes with a laugh. "Are you a dead giraffe?" She answered "okay" and went right to the next question. I said "the cabinets are starting to fill with water". She again said okay, and went to the next question. I answered yes to all of the questions and was eventually transferred to a live sales person, who got an earful from me before I hung up on him. Don't answer unless you have time to spare and want some entertainment!
So the latest phone scam is someone calling with a "bad" connection. They ask if you can hear them- they are looking for you to say yes so they can use that recorded response to sign you up for a magazine subscription etc. then when you dispute the subscription (or whatever) they tell you that you ageeed to it and they have your response recorded. Just hang up. Do not respond if you cannot identify the caller.
