Called and said they were from DirecTV and even asked to speak to me by my actual first and last name. I do have directv so I let her continue. She mentioned that since I've been a loyal customer I would receive 30 days free of Starz, HBO, etc. I interrupted her and told her I was at work and that I was not interested. She was not rude and simply told me to have a good day. Now I'm wondering why the call came from a normal phone number, from my local area, and not a 1-800 number from the company.

So I'm following up on this call from earlier. This is a SCAM. I ended up calling a legit DirecTV phone number and asked about the promotions the caller had mentioned to me. They told me I was not currently elgible for anything like that. They told me they did not try to contact me with any promotions either.
I called the number back (714) 912-8476 and it goes straight to a voicemail. The voice message mentions DirecTV, but I am now 100% sure this is a SCAM. The scariest part is that they knew my first and last name (Not to mention they called me on my personal cell phone number).
Do yourself a favor and don't answer. Block the phone number if you can
