This is a company that will sell crap targeting older people. The call I got was trying to sell the highly unethical "Safe Step Walk-In Tubs." The scam part of it is that they sell an overpriced company to people with diminished judgment (many times for 3 to 4 times the price of competing products available at Costco, Home Depot, Lowes, etc...).
I am on the do-not-call list too.
Though they identified themselves as Safe Step, they are a contractor just plying their scam using a nationally-known name.
Keep reporting them to FCC. Whining here does no good. Call hang up at 1105 AM PST, first since last spring. For those of you upset that you are on the DNC list and they call. Hellllooo --- you are blonde? Crooks do not abide by laws. One of the med alert scam that we got calls from nonstop the past two years has finally been caught and is shut down. However, there are a couple of copy cats of that scam. If these jerks change the number every month, it is difficult to track them. if you do not report every call you get, then they can now narrow in on them. Showing anger because the "system" does not work is just plain silly. When have crooks and thieves abided by any system? Oh, forgot -- common sense. So gone here. Report them and let elderly and infirm know to never answer the phone or interact with these perverts. That is their target, not the ones like you who scream and yell like spoiled brats. They love that, makes their day. They make the bucks by number of calls they interact with remember. Oh, you didn't know that either? Elections over, holidays here, scam time. Do not let these bad people ruin your month of legally spending money. Oh, and one more thing: You pick up or call them they know you are a legitimate phone number -- and sell your number to other crooks. Damn that common sense is annoying to loose, isn't it? Report report report.
17Dec14: 5:30pm, CA. I picked up but did not speak bcuz the woman on the other end of the line was holding a conversation with someone in her company. The call disconnected but only after I was able to hear part of the dialog. Acsecond and third call was placed at 5:34pm. Since I did not establish voice recognition on the first, the two calls placed four minutes later were ignored. The voice mail indicator on my phone was not activated from the second or third calls.
