Man, named Investigator Michaels in New York. Said Vista Holdings hired him to track down my fiance. Said my fiance intentionally, frauded an online payday lender back in 2009. Said they have been aggressively searching for my fiance for 6 years. Said they couldn't file charges until they contacted him and gave him a chance to resolve the debt. Said he could settle the matter for $450, which was 2 weeks ago. Now he called again yesterday saying he can settle it for $275. I told him we contacted the AR attorney general's offc to inquire and they advised us it is a scam. Attry General told us to tell him to cease and assist. He said they have legal right to collect a debt for 7 years. He was not phased at all by me telling him that AG said not to call us anymore, that it was illegal to collect debts for pay day loans in the state of AR. He didnt care. 2 weeks ago he lied and said his guy was on his way to our house at that very moment to serve court papers. A few days later we called the county courthouse and found out nothing had been filed. When I confronted him with that, he said that he didnt explain himself correctly last time. He said he didnt care if we resolved it or not but assured us we would be taken to court and have to pay over $1,800 in legal fees, etc. He was quoting AR state laws word for word and I admit he seemed educated but we just felt like there were holes in the story. We will no longer take any of his calls. Scammer!!
