Claimed to be from some library service "updating our information". same experience as GateKeeper - no hello, and asked verification of the same info that the phone system answers all calls with before going to the directory. Pretty sure it's a call center, as a check of the number shows no name associated with it.
when i answered the phone- the caller immediately started asking if i was at "such and such address..."- absolutely NO "hello" no "this is so and so from such place" nope- just immediately wants to confirm my address... Asked who was calling- caller claims NYS chamber of commerce
