Who called from 7162183403

When I answered the call, there was a recorded voice telling me that this is the IRS and this is my last notice that I owe money. The recording went on to say that I needed to call back to this number ASAP to avoid further action. The voice is 100% American. Although I knew this was a scam, I was surprised at the American voice. I called the number back, and sure enough, a voice with an incredibly heavy Indian accent said, "Hello, IRS, how can I help you". I apologized nicely for dialing the wrong number, hung up and blocked him.

I just received the same call and when I called back, the accent was african. They asked me to hold, I hung up and blocked this number.

Interesting. Same number left a message today with the old "You are subject of a lawsuit. If you do not want to be served with papers, call back immediately" scam. In fact, not only a scam, but they seem to be pulling several of them using the same number. By the way, IRS NEVER calls without sending mail first.

Received a recorded message. All was chopped off except "... settlement call #"

I just received the same exact call.  I called back and got no answer, nor did I get a recording as you do when you call the IRS,
