Only received this much of a voicemail: "809-0055. To discuss this offer in details. When calling please refer to file number 182-0470. We look forward to speaking with you. Thank you."
Received a call from 716-239-4315 (from New York) and the partial message left by a male voice stated that my bank item was returned and referenced a file number, which then stated "in my interest I better call or have my legal [...] call" then proceeded to leave 855-243-0055 as the call back number. I contacted my bank and no items have been returned. When I looked up the 855 number there is no such listing for this number. Does anyone have any idea who these robocalls are coming from and what they want?
It's a SCAM! They pay money for old or DISCHARGED debts and attempt to collect on the NO LONGER VALID DEBTS using ILLEGAL scare tactics and threats of jail time and repayment of legal fees associated with collecting the so-called debt! Repeated attempts to block their number fail because they use VoIP to "spoof" legitimate phone numbers in their underhanded tactics to STEAL your money!
