This number called 716-244-6550, asked if my name was Leah and then gave the last 4 digits of my ss #. I said yep that's me! This person then says you are being investigated and you are going to be served papers. She then transfers me to another woman, who answers the transferred call like...Hello..hello how can I help you, to which I reply, I dont know you called me lady. She then says hello leah I am needing to speak to about a open bank fraud / loan fraud case that has been filed against you! My reply being (really???) She says the fraud happened in 2011, at this point I laugh because I have not had any type of bank account for the last 8 years, she then asks if I had gotten a loan, I laugh at her again and say i dont know did I? she got frustrated with me pretty quick and just said a sheriff would be serving me papers soon and hung up.
we have ip phones in my office with caller id. so today i get a call from this number. at the same time 2 more calls pop up on the caller id from the same number. i was able to answer all 3 and it was just a dead line. very strange and this is the 1st time this number has called.
Had been getting called daily - message left saying we have files attached to your name and SS # I call it back female answers and transferred me to the department handling. I barely get a word in edgewise and they tell me I owe $ and well when I said I haven't received anything in the mail and wouldn't pay a dime until then and I would contact my local Sheriff if they didn't cease and desist - she took that as a threat and hung on me.
