I received a call from 504-684-2570 (Unknown), but 716-256-1876 is the number I'm given to respond to. Called once, hung up, and then immediately called again and left a voice mail. Caller identified himself as James Mack with ARS. Spelled my maiden name because he couldn't pronounce it and asked me to call about a file his office had received about me. What the hell does that mean?
Recieved a call from this number but when I called back they did not verify who the company was or if the call was referencing a business matter. The person answered the phone casually as Mr. Mac and at no point would he disclose the (fake) "company" he was working for. "Mr. Mac" very rudely demanded my social security number or threatened he would "report to the client that you are unwilling to make payments unless you have your lawyer call to verify or you provide me your social security number". This is CLEARLY a scam to get people's SSNs as no company was disclosed or any proper protocol followed by typical debt collection company was not followed.
receiving phone calls from 7162561876 offices or ars with a file with my ss# on it is their message to return call to a James Mack quickly. gave a file number. He answers the phone but won't provide info. I will keep calling him back just to irritate him. Plus turned him in to fbi by filling out "online tips from" at https://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/fraud. type in the previous address as opposed to linking is a better practice because they could put a diff site connected to a hyperlink.
Recived a call from a local number however on the message I was told to call back 716-256-1876. When I called 'Mr. Mac' answered the phone. Asked for my name. I gave it to him. He then asked to confirm the last four of my SSN and rattled off four digits, he asked if that was correct when I said no (it was in fact correct) he stated that he was very sorry and would remove my name from his call list. Total scam. Beware
