My wife received this call from an IRS OFFICER in reference to a legal action against her name. He also ask her if she had a lawyer or wants to be represented by the IRS (???) She hung up and told me about this call that sound very funny. After checking the Internet we found that this number is one of hundred of 716 area code used to contact people with prank calls.
Just received a menacing nmessage from someone identifying himself as Officer Adam Scott, IRS Officer, warning us of grave consequences in an extremely time sensitive matter if we or our attorney did not return his call immediately. When my husband called him, he was asked for his social security number by someone speaking broken English who eventually told him they must have the wrong name and they would take us off "the list." To anyone who reads this, please know that this is not how the IRS operates and NEVER give your social security number out over the phone.
Wow ! I just received the same threatening message from a man with a foreign accent !! Thanks for warning others . I will also pass on the warning ! I never put a phone number on Google search before....I was so surprised it worked !
