It is a scam. per the FDCPA, you should not pay any caller who refuses to mail - do not accept email or fax - proof of debt/proof your caller has the legal right to collect said debt. Refusal to mail this documentation within five days of their initial contact with you is a violation of federal law. As is threatening to garnish wages, take bank accounts and property. You've already spoken to the courts - good for you! - so please know that these losers can't do anything to you. Please do report them to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General.

18557694462 and 17163719755 claim to be collections and aassociates on a debt no longer owed. They threaten to garnish wages and take bank accounts and property. They also say they can take SSSI. They say that they are taking us to court but say they cannot send any paperwork in the mail. Our courts say its a scam. The man we talked to is a laser named Paul Bopko. Would not give a company name.

Received a call at my work from Joe Collin 716-371-9755. Stated that I had taken out a payday loan and that I owed them money. Gave me case # 202154 and said that he would wait for my call. This is the 2nd time I have gotten a call at my work from this number.
