This is a common tactic of a debt telemaggoter. They are not going to honor requests to be placed on do not call lists. I know this based on the fact I used to receive calls from operations like this asking for people I never heard of.
I received a call from (716) 382-7749 on August 13. I don't know anyone in New York so I chose not to answer it. At first I thought they called a wrong number and didn't leave a message. Eventually I got a voicemail of silence for a few seconds and all the man said was "what a lovely outgoing message." In a VERY rude and obnoxious tone. No clue who this was.
Guy named John Barnes from a company called Mediation Services supposedly looking for someone I knew. Told him not to call me again and he said he will continue to call me unless person he was looking for gave him permission to take my name off contact!! He was very rude and hung up on me!!

Person claiming to be John Barnes 716-382-7749 from a supposed company called Mediation Services in NY called looking for someone I knew. Told him not to call me again and he said he only the person he wants me to tell call him tells him ok to remove my name from their contact info!! He was rude and hung up on me!
