SCAM!! FEATURED MEDIATION!! SCAM...I got a call from these clowns a few days ago and just tried to call back today. The recorded message they left me stated to call back 1-844-587-1475 and reference a file #. I called back and got some rude [***] lady on the phone. She stated I had some outstanding payday loan form 3 years ago and was trying to get me to pay for it over the phone with a credit card. I started asking questions like do you have a website, are you registered with the Better Business Bureau, etc. She said that their company "Featured Mediation" is in the BBB. I looked on the BBB and nothing came up. I also did a reverse number lookup through whitepages.com and the number came up as having havy spam activity suspected coming from that #. Also, the # is based in Grand Island, NY. Additionally, they have tried to contact various family members as well. and I have warned them as well to ignore or just block the calls when they try to make contact. This company is made of up of pure pieces of [***].
This number called me, didn't leave a message, I called Fromm work number but didn't disclose my name asking who it was & they asked if I was the person, the name was right but I said no that's not me. I wonder how they'd have my work number associated in their system....I have a cheat credit report too. Been getting a lot of weird calls lately saying I have a complaint filed against my ssn & I have a case #. I tell them to mail me info & they even have my correct address. A lady once told me someone was just at my door to arrest me wth.
Received a call from a gentleman claiming to be from Featured Mediation @ 716-404-4697. I explained to him his number did not trace back to a business. He claimed his company has a website, but could not give me the address. He had only bits and pieces of my information correct. I refused to tell him who I was because I do not believe he contacted the right person. Was not the nicest person to deal with, and stated they were an Accounts Receivable company that purchased a debt. I explained I should be able to track the number back to a website, or check if they were licensed to do business in my State. Did not answer those questions. I felt like since the majority of everything he told me was wrong, it was some type of fraud/scam, and I told him that at which I was hung on. They have a dialer system that dials numbers without verifying the number or person they are trying to reach is correct.
This maa named Thomas Weinstein says he is from a mediation group and also has some of my information correct and he has my social security number also and is issuing a complaint and is going to file and an arrest will be issued for my arrest. I called the police and they said it was a SCAM AND A FRAUD. They said they were going to notify my employer and I told them to go right aheahead. I have not worked in almost three years, so what does that tell you?
I received a call on my cell and they did not leave a message. Then they called my work and left a message on my voicemail. Stating there was case against me, but did not disclose the name of the person they wer contacting about. Left a case number and a number to call them back at 844-587-1475. Have not looked up this number yet to see where it leads. All my debt is currently in Chpt 13 so if this was legit they should have contacted my attorney not me directly. Plus, most of my debt is for student loans and nothing else. I get at least one call like this a week or an email for something similar. No matter how many times you tell these people to leave you alone they keep calling its getting ridiculous.
