Keeps calling for a relative regarding a Best Buy account in collections. They have not used their Best Buy card in 5 years and have confirmed several times with Best Buy that their account is fully paid off and closed. I have explained to this Josh Carney guy that I am not who they are looking for and have had the person that they are looking for call him back from their phone while I was sitting there. They have explained to him that their account with Best Buy is closed and have even given him names, times, and dates of who they've spoken to confirming the account is closed. Nothing helps....he keeps calling me and has not called them back, even though they gave Josh the correct number to be calling.
I have had that same problem so I know how you feel. I ended up sending a cease and desist letter. Here's the consumer finance link for doing this and there is a link inside to sample letters that you can just download. Read through the advice they give. You can actually sue them if they continue to call. The second link is information on filing a complaint for harassment.
