Catoosa, Oklahoma (Suburb of Tulsa) Resident Scammed out of nearly $18,000.00 by Eugene E. Wooden Sr.
The classic PCH winner telephone scam of $1,150,000.00. The lady got a phone call with the usual story about winning the money. Said he was very convincing. Was instructed that she had to make a IRS tax deposit of $15,499.00 and a $2,250.91 activation fee before the money could be released. She went to her bank and withdrew almost 18K from an account and wired it to a Bank of America account located at 5025 Lankershim Blvd. North Hollywood, Calif. She was also out of $70 dollars for a ups package containing Envelopes and catalog.
MY thoughts: The local Tulsa TV stations are so eager to make "Breaking News Stories" about piddly A** Crap to fill up 5 hours of so called news each day, but won't put any effort into exploring and providing updates to the public about this national epidemic of Scamming. It is at a Crisis Level!! These TV and Radio people, as well as the Newspapers should be making a concerted effort to stem the mass thievery that is happening to our citizens. People, at a low point in this country, need every dime they can earn. Yet the news media is too busy doing their own commercials about how they are ON TOP of every story, Americans #1 weather forecasts, Crime Reporters who do hard hitting commercials in the ally behind the TV Station, it is all BullSh** . It's what they do as opposed to what they could be doing for the public....
