They've done it with my mom too. She knows they are crooks as well and doesn't answer the phone for any number she doesn't recognize. It really is sad that they would resort to harassing elderly folks to get money. All we can do is pray they catch these people and give us (and a lot of other people) peace. Can anyone confirm that they used Uncle Warbucks for the payday loan that has triggered these calls? I did use them and suddenly the calls began and have continued for weeks on end. The website claims that your information is protected, but it obviously is not. I just want to confirm this before I look into options against these guys for selling my personal info. My biggest regret ever was to get this stupid loan.
They called my mom claiming they did a background check on my husband and got her name from running his social security number and needed to get some info on/from him. My workplace does background checks on us every year, and I know that what they claimed they got from a background check was false, plus my husband would have had to give consent for these people to do a check. So don't respond to these people, definitely scammers.
