A woman called from 716-795-0239 (Barker, NY). She said she was from Windows Tech and they have been receiving error messages of viruses from my computer. Then she said this was a routine call to check up on my windows computer. I played along and she guided me to a website www.1234computer.com to download a file to my computer. Then she transfered me to her supervisor to start a remote session. I asked them if I could call them back and they said call them at 206-451-8260. I told them this was a scam and hung up (I had not downloaded anything or allowed the remote access.) I called the number 206-451-8260 and surprisingly, someone answered saying they were Windows Tech, a division of Microsoft. I'm sure this was a scam and they would have installed a virus or wiped my harddrive clean or somehow extorted money to get my data back.
This phone number 716-795-0239 called my cell phone today but it was a missed call. This is one of many similar calls I get. I earmark them on my cell phone as spam, telemarketer, etc., so I know not to pick up. These morans need to be taken down.
