Got a call from these people today called the number back, couldnt understand the lady who answered when I asked where I called I still couldnt understand her. Thank goodness I looked. The guy (Bob Coaster??) stated I had something against my SS# and I needed to contact my attorney. sorry buddy but I know all the debt I have and YOU are NOT on my list. Sounds like someone needs to get a real job! Pathetic people I tell ya!
I received the call from someone saying they were Attorney Bob Coster from the Headquarters of the United States Financial Crimes and Investigations. The reason for his call was to brief me about a law suit complaint filed against my SSN. He went on to tell me that I needed to call back so they could take care of this matter. If I didn't call back for whatever matter, I needed to contact my attorney ASAP. If I do not call back, them they consider that a flat refusal and this will be filed with my state/county cotels????
What always amazes me is the way they throw around info about your SS#! "Your SSN is going to be put on hold" HUH??? OMG, yep, that makes a LOT of sense!! "There was a lawsuit filed against your SSN" - again, they obviously have NO idea how anything in the good ol' USA works. Just a bunch of rat turds tring to scare people. The answer is simple: any time a call name and/or number comes up you don't recognize, DON'T ANSWER. Another tip, turn your answering machine off so they never connect. They give up quickly.
I received an e-mail on my work computer, stating that I am being legally prosecuted in my State Courthouse about a legal matter during the next few days. They don't say what this is regarding, I need this stopped because this is on my work computer. Case file ac93289.
That is what spam folders are for. It is not legal to notify or serve someone by e mail. If you were going to "prosecuted" you would have been arrested and told to obtain council, no forewarned of it. This e mail has been going around for years, it is poorly worded, has numerous mistakes, and could not have possibly been written by an educated person. There is no way to stop someone from sending e mail like this to you. Most likely they are sending hundreds and hundreds out in the hope that they will scare someone into paying. Simply discard it, and certainly do not open any attachments as they will contain malware or viruses.
