He urged to call him back at this number, but the call came through my caller id as a local number. Same local number called my work phone just before calling me personal phone.

JUST GOT THE SAME CALL, STARTED FREAKING OUT, EVERY TIME I GET A RANDOM CALL FROM SOME RANDOM NUMBER I LOOK IT UP ONLINE TO SEE WHAT IT IS, GLAD I DID, NOW I KNOW I DIDNT HAVE A "FORMAL CMPLAINT" ABOUT ME. THANK GOODNESS! GONNA BLOCK THAT NUMBER!
I got a call on Monday 4-6-15. They are ARS...Atlantic Recovery Solutions located in Buffalo, NY. They are a COMPLIANT agency. They do not threaten process serverers coming to your door etc, BUT they do have accounts in legal status. I actually had my attorney contact them. All they can do is place a JUDGEMENT against you for 7 years. go to CREDITKARMA.COM for some knowledge on your credit. I had an OLD jewelry account from a few years ago and in was still with in the statute of limitations. They will compromise with you to have it REMOVED. I have done a lot of research with all the scams out there, but they are in there legal right. What really burns me tho is why I WORK HARD to pay off my debt, the DEAD BEATS cry scam to make themselves feel better about screwing over (STEALING) from companies. That's why America is in the shape its in. Things happen but make it right If you do want to fix your credit they can definitely help. Avoid all places that threaten arrest, sheriff etc. they are the scammers. Get everything in writing prior to payment. This was the advice of my attorney. For those of you who will not have credit for another 7 years best of luck lol. But honestly credit karma a good place to visit
