USA Readers Club called me at work and said they were contacting "women at their places of work" and offering them a free subscription to 5 magazines, Woman's Day, Family Circle, etc. They would be sent to your home address. All you had to do was share these magazines with friends and family when you were done reading them. They said it was an advertising scheme. I said I wasn't interested. Don't know if it was a scam or not but we've had calls from those "Toner Phoner" people before and I think our numbers on an easy to scam list...
Received a call at my workplace from this number. They said they were USA Readers Club and were giving complimentary subscriptions to 6 magazines. Only cost to me would be the postage which came to $3.XX each week. They said they would send postage paid envelopes for me to pay this. The lady took my name, address, and phone information and said her supervisor would call back to verify my information. A few minutes later i received a call from 716-886-4043. After this person verified my information, he said they would have to collect the initial payment with a debit or credit card. I refused to give this information to him, took a call-back number, and ended the call.
