My mystery is solved...
Though I am not sure who owns the number...717-212-0015
Mr. Rufus Xavier filled in a bunch of home improvement forms and 'fat fingered' my home phone.
I've gotten four business because of his error. But at least one of them was kind enough to help me solve the problem and at least three of them will remove my number.
Hopefully these folks from Etters, PA too since I told them it was a wrong number.
Answered for fun, no one there. I wait till these pest have to disconnect and never hang up. They are scammers. Phone makes obnoxious sound before hanging up. I blocked the number. Probably will do no good as they change numbers frequently, but I'll just keep blocking anyway.
A human sounding robot is calling you. Ask it if it's a robot and it will say, "Do I sound that bad?" It will also lie to you and insist that you are speaking with a "live person" but that they are using a computer to talk to you for "quality assurance purposes" and that it is recording the conversation. If you tell it you do not give permission to record your conversation, it will try to change the subject. Ask it silly questions and listen as it tries to decide how to reply. (Ask it if it's telling you lies!)
As far as the organization goes, at least 75% of their expenditures seem to be related to fundraising. So for every dollar you give them, they spend 75 cents trying to get another dollar from someone else, according to this web site:
The web site concludes "Our review of this information leaves us more than a bit leery of this organization. We recommend you find a more reputable veterans charity for your donation."
