Called on a Monday evening at 8:30 after a very trying day at work. No message left. Big surprise. If they call again, which I'm sure they will after 8PM, I will block their number. I only get 12 block numbers through my greedy phone company. I hope these m-er f-ers burn in h*ll for scamming people.
Caller ID says Donor Relations. I answered. (I actually thought it said "Your Relations" and I figured it was a scam I could have fun with.) The man says "may I speak with the man or woman of the house". I countered with "No". There was silence, but not the silence of a dropped call. It hit me, he's recording this. After a pause he says "are you still there". I almost said yes, but I remember reading about those scams where they record you, take the recording of you saying yes, and attach it to a recording of him asking if you give approval for some monthly charge against your phone bill. When I didn't answer he hung up. As a fundraising professional myself, if he truly was with a charity it was bad form to ask for the man or woman of the house and not the donor by name.
They called again on a Tuesday evening at 8:30PM - had to use my 9th call block slot out of 12 that i have through greedy centurylink phone company. I'm sure they will only use a different number next time to get through just like the alleged fraternal order of police did - they used about 5 different numbers.
