The usual "press 9 to reduce your credit card interest rates" autodialer script, followed by scammers inquiring about name, zip code, credit card holdings. I played along a bit, giving them false info. Was "transferred" to different individuals several times via what sounded like them just covering ph. receiver with their hand, some muffled talking before handing it off to new person with a bogus title (Financial Advisor, etc). They wanted me to provide info but called it "verification". All speakers exhibited a distinct, heavy Indian accent. Last guy said their company name was "Account Services" located in Orlando FL. They couldn't give me THEIR toll-free ph# until I was fully "qualified" via their process. I told him that's a load of BS & that I was familiar with their type of scam. He laughed & kept working his script. I hung up.
appears to be a scam involving the use of visa mastercard exchange. They just want the last 4 digits of your cards and will lower rates to 6.99. there is recording that prompts you to press 9. I called the phone copmapny they said to dial *73 to undo any potential forwarding from my number
Also got a call from this number. No message left. Caller ID says: "KELLEY, ROBERT &" - yes, shows up as Gettysburg, PA phone number. I'm in Michigan and don't know and Kelleys.
Got a call from this number offering lower credit card interest rate. Hit 9 if interested. I hit 9 and told them in strong language to stop calling me. The person who answered just laughed.
We are senior citizens living in Gettysburg, PA. Six weeks ago our caller ID was scammed, by something the telephone company calls Caller ID Spoofing. This scam has even been reported on national TV . We reported to Embarq, the PA Utilities Comm, FCC, FTC, two local congressmen and the PA Attorney General. I can give you the name of the representative, Frank Duschek. The telephone company advises there is nothing they can do, however, we have now had our phone number disconnected. I don't know who you are, but if you are the person who sent us the hate mail, please rethink what you have done. We are the victims hear, having received over 700 calls, we had to put the phone on hold to be able to sleep.
