You are correct - the Do Not Call list means nothing to scammers. They completely ignore it.
And why wait for someone else to do something when you yourself can. Invest in a call blocker and don't answer calls from unknown phone numbers if at all possible.
It's NOT a spam caller. It's an electricity supplier named Direct Energy, trying to get you to switch electricity providers. If you're registered on your state or national DNC list, submit a complaint. It's telemarketing.
Got called from this number. Didn't recognize it, didn't answer, no VM left. Caller ID just showed "Pennsylvania". Had problems couple years ago with cold calls from so-called suppliers wanting my electric account number. Knew they were fakes when robo calls misnamed my electric company.
Very annoying and ILLEGAL since I am on the DoNotCall list (which means nothing apparently). Wish someone, somewhere, would get this problem under control-scammers calling several times a day. With all the smart computer people we have, you'd think this country could figure this out but, no, since it costs too much money, it's not worth their effort. And so it continues...
