Just got a call from this number....called i.d. "Hutsky Leigh". Guy sounded like he was from Nigeria or Kenya and tried to get me to go into my computer to look up a "computer id number." I kept him on the line for about 1/2 hour, listening to his BS and asking him all kinds of questions. I figured if I kept him on the phone, he couldn't bother anyone else. He finally hung up on me! Ha ha! Definitely a scam.
just received phone call from someone with a heavy indian accent claiming they are from windows tech support and were trying to prompt me to do things in my computer because theyy recieved information that malware and spyware had gotten into my computer without my knowledge while i was on my computer recently...but my computer hadnt been used all day... i looked up the number and saw it was a verizon cell phone...i asked to speak to a manager and he got on the phone but when i mentioned that i didnt realize windows tech started using personal cell phones to contact customers instead of a business land line phone number and i informed them i checked my software and my computer was working fine they hung up...i tried calling back and it said the verizon cell phone number you are trying to reach has been changed or cancelled.
Same thing here a heavy accent person calls tells me computer is corrupt ....we dont have computers just ipads.....then he hangs up also called my husbands WORK cell that is from his company how do these people get these phone numbers very scary.....
I got a similar call from 717-525-4587. The caller ID said the call came from a Hutsky Leigh. The gentleman had a thick Indian accent claimed to be from "Microsoft Technical Center" and that his name was Sam Watson. I know that Microsoft does not call as they do not have my tel#. I immediately said I did not want anything from them and hung up. No call back as yet. Please report this Tel# to your local state Attorney General's office.
They can buy your personal info from any number of sources, but I have found many "charities" are selling personal info to make money. Credo and a few others seem to be doing the deed.
I called Verizon and spoke to customer service who transferred me to wireless department. Their wireless department did not answer and the call was disconnected. I tried to give them the pertinent information, but was unable to provide the Tel # before I was switched over to their wireless dept. I guess Verizon doesn't care someone is using a stolen SIM card and getting free phone service.
