I got a call from Russell Shaeffer from that same phone number 717-823-0146. He left a message claiming we went to the same high school only graduated many years before me. He clearly knew my first and last name. He said he and his wife just recently moved their "bussiness unit" back to Lancaster. He asked me to give him a call back if I was interested in a business opportunity to earn additional income in my area.
I do not know him. He doesn't know me. He could have been trying to call another person of the same name. Either way it is fishy. He will try to personalize the call for you to make you comfortable. He also sounds like a nice guy. I'm not sure what his agenda is. Be careful.
A caller who identified himself as Russell Shafer (spelling unknown) left a message at a NJ phone. When the call returned it hit voice mail. He then returned the call from this number only identified as LANCASTER, PA. He apologized for being away from his phone. Asked if I went to a particular High School and then started conversation to learn about me. Given no info he then said "he normally doesn't do this to people he has no connection with, but would I be interested in opportunities for additional income"...

I checked classmates.com last night after he left the message. I agree with you that is where he is getting info. He had mistaken me for another person of the same name. That is the only reason I saw a red flag. If he had my info correct I might have called him back. He is prowling for some reason. I just wanted people to be aware.
