Thanks so much. I got the same person trying to scam me. I really appreciate your post because I was really stressed out for a minute. The documents he emailed looked very official. I was thinking, "I have to go to court in another state?" wtf?????????????

FYI - Emails, phone calls & texts are NOT considered official notification of a debt. That would be written notification that is mailed to you showing all information - amount due, plaintiff, dates, etc.
It is ILLEGAL to threaten arrest, etc. also. You will not be arrested even if you did owe! Report them to your state attorney general's office.
Thank you for clarifying that! I just got this on my WORK email! on the same day that news of a co-worker being arrested on a completely different matter surfaced. This has been a very bizarre day!
Just got a threatening email from these jerks...named Mike Johnson when I called the number his accent was so bad I couldn't understand him. Also after telling him not to ever send a threatening email yo me again, he began cursing me over and over! SCAM!!!!!
