Got a random call from "Card Services"--an automated call offering to lower my interest rate as low as 1%. It sounded shady, so I pressed "1" to speak to a live person. When "Kyle" answered, I asked him what card he was calling about. Without saying another word, he just hung up on me. As I thought--shady.
Just got a call from this number....which mentioned my minor child's first name only. Spooky. I pressed one and asked the rep why he needed to speak with "Name Witheld". He informed me that he could not tell me whom he was calling for. I began yelling him at this point that the child was a very young minor and he couldn't tell me why he called!!!???! I directed him to take me off the list immediately and hung up. Didn't realize this was a scam, but he got a loud earful this evening. I've since called back and got the Google Voice mail box.
This is a scam. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!! They use multiple numbers, not just this one. I have reported them to the State Attorney General and to the FCC, but they just change numbers and keep calling.
